MSU Student Book Store to move and end textbook sales

The Michigan State University Student Book Store will move next month and stop selling textbooks as it shifts to merchandise-only sales, citing MSU’s move toward digital course materials.

The store’s current location at 421 East Grand River Ave. will close Aug. 2. It will move to 515 East Grand River Ave., the current site of Spartan Corner.

The move will make way for The Howard, a 12-story mixed-use development in downtown East Lansing with residential and commercial space. An East Lansing City Council agenda from July 21 says the building will have space for 748 residents and is anticipated to open in 2028.
