Two drivers die after head-on crash in Shiawassee County

A man and a woman died after a head-on collision involving two pickup trucks Saturday evening in Venice Township.

Michigan State Police said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Durand Road near Lennon Road. Investigators said a 56-year-old Byron woman was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado south when it collided head-on with a 2020 GMC Sierra driven by a 37-year-old Flint man.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital, where they later died. State police said Sunday that the investigation remained ongoing and asked anyone with information to call the Flint Post at 810-732-1111.
