Flood watch covers parts of southeast Michigan until 5 p.m.

A flood watch is in effect Sunday for parts of southeastern Michigan, including Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and St. Clair counties.

The watch runs until 5 p.m. as a slow-moving band of showers brings the risk of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches within 2 to 3 hours are likely, with locally higher amounts possible.

Some areas in Lenawee and Monroe counties are under a flood advisory until 3:30 p.m. Precipitation chances are expected to decrease after the watch period, with partial clearing overnight.
