Lansing offers final day of early voting before Tuesday primary

Lansing residents had one more day Monday to cast an early ballot before Tuesday’s primary election, after early voting ended at most sites across Michigan.

The state’s nine-day early voting period closed for most communities, but six communities, including Lansing, offered an additional day on Aug. 3. Devyne Lloyd, chairperson at the Lansing Elections Office, said turnout had been consistent, with about 500 to nearly 600 voters there during the week.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office also launched an election protection webpage covering voter rights, voter intimidation and reporting options. Lloyd encouraged voters to review their ballots before arriving at the polls.
