U.S. stock futures rise as oil prices fall on Iran talks

U.S. stock futures edged higher Tuesday, extending gains from the previous session as strong earnings reports and lower oil prices supported investor sentiment.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington was in talks with Iran and that a deal could come soon to open the Strait and move toward a more normalized position in the conflict. After the comments, U.S. crude futures fell about 3% to around $77.95 a barrel, while Brent crude dropped roughly 2% to about $81.

Traders also watched June factory orders and U.S. international trade data for signals on the economy. The 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.69%, while the two-year yield was 4.26%.

Bitcoin traded 1.72% higher at $63,510.10 over the past 24 hours. European markets were mostly higher in early trading, while major Asian indexes were mixed.
