Simpson wins Ionia County commission primary over Ross

Robert Simpson defeated Tim Ross in Tuesday's Republican primary for the vacant District 3 seat on the Ionia County Board of Commissioners. Simpson received 757 votes to Ross's 538.

Simpson previously served as Keene Township supervisor. Ross is chairman of the Ionia County Republican Party. No Democratic candidates ran for the seat.
