Strong wins GOP primary in 78th House District race

Brandon L. Strong won Tuesday's four-way Republican primary for Michigan's 78th House District, carrying the district's portions of all four counties it spans. With all applicable precincts reporting, Strong received 5,743 votes, or 50.3% of the total, winning by a margin of about 23.8 percentage points.

Terence M. Frewen finished second with 3,027 votes, or 26.5%. Miguel Pilar received 1,341 votes, or 11.7%, and Kaleb M. Hudson received 1,317 votes, or 11.5%.

Strong's majority in the primary secures the Republican nomination for the seat heading into the general election.
