Midland home prices jump more than 20% amid Dow layoff uncertainty
Midland's housing market showed resilience in July despite lingering uncertainty over recently announced workforce reductions at Dow. The city recorded 43 home sales for the month, close to the 45 sold in July 2025, but the average sale price rose to $316,269 from $261,622 a year earlier, an increase of more than 20 percent.
Homes continued to move quickly, spending an average of 18 days on the market compared with 17 days in July 2025. The average list price was $316,841, and total sales volume reached nearly $13.6 million, up from about $11.8 million during the same month last year.
Year to date through the end of July, 264 homes have sold in the City of Midland at an average price of $308,080, spending an average of 26 days on the market with an average list price of $306,986.
