New York security guard sentenced to 30 years for exploiting Michigan girl
A former school security guard from New York has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting an 11-year-old girl from northern Michigan whom he met on the gaming platform Roblox, federal prosecutors said.
Ryan Dookhan, 31, of Jamaica, New York, was sentenced for sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Court records show he met the girl on Roblox in spring 2024, initially posing as another child before moving the conversation to the video chat app JusTalk.
He then revealed he was an adult and threatened to find and kidnap the girl if she did not send explicit images, court records show. She said she complied because she was afraid. Investigators opened the case after the girl's parents reported it, and identified Dookhan quickly because he had sent her photos of himself, including one showing him wearing a shirt bearing the logo of the school where he worked as a security guard.
