Report finds dozens of ultra-wealthy officials in Trump administration

A Public Citizen analysis found that 57 Trump administration officials have estimated net worths exceeding $100 million, including eight billionaires. Seventeen are ambassadors and 40 hold senior posts, including more than one-third of Cabinet positions. More than half donated to Trump’s 2024 campaign, contributing a combined $65 million to him or affiliated political committees.

The report also identified financial ties between some appointees and industries affected by their agencies, raising potential conflict-of-interest concerns. Sen. Bernie Sanders said the findings showed a government serving the wealthy, while Public Citizen said the concentration of wealth could influence officials’ priorities and undermine public trust.
