Michigan gas prices ease as diesel costs climb nationwide
Average gasoline prices in Michigan fell 13 cents over the past week to $4.12 per gallon, according to GasBuddy data. Prices were 12 cents below a month ago but 85.2 cents higher than a year ago.
Prices varied widely across the state, from $3.54 to $5.94 per gallon. The national gasoline average rose 2.9 cents to $4.05 per gallon, while diesel increased 16.6 cents to $5.584 per gallon.
GasBuddy said the loss of Russian refinery capacity was adding pressure to global refined-fuel supplies. The national gasoline average could exceed $4 per gallon by Labor Day, the agency said.
