State police clarify family ties in Missaukee County shooting

Michigan State Police confirmed the relationships among people involved in a shooting in Missaukee County. Amanda Everitt was the mother of Eric Thomas and a 13-year-old girl who was injured, police said.

Everitt, Thomas and Shane McGowen were found dead on LaChance Road. McGowen was an acquaintance of suspected shooter Chad Hickman, according to police.

Police also confirmed that Heather Schwartz and Hickman were half-siblings. Schwartz was found dead in a wooded area near Whitlock Lake alongside Hickman.
