Lansing shelter project remains stalled as design and funding questions continue

Lansing’s NOVA Housing Initiative remains without a firm groundbreaking date, a year after the transitional shelter project launched. The modular units remain in storage as the city approaches a second winter, while officials work to complete a design plan for review.

Officials also have not detailed the program’s long-term funding or operating commitments. A sample pod is on display at Lansing City Hall through the end of August.
