Gaylord shooting investigation continues after armed man was killed
Michigan State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a 29-year-old Gaylord man on Aug. 22. Troopers said the incident followed a traffic stop for no insurance, after which the driver fled and crashed in Dover Township.
Investigators said the man exited the vehicle and pointed a firearm at a deputy. Police said the weapon was recovered at the scene. Once the investigation is complete, MSP will submit the evidence to the Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
