Democratic candidates urge MSU students to vote in November

Three Democratic candidates urged students to participate in Michigan’s November elections during a Michigan State University College Democrats meeting Tuesday in East Lansing. Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II, State Senate candidate Rashida Harrison and Attorney General candidate Eli Savit spoke to about 70 attendees, joined by Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum.

Gilchrist discussed protecting voting rights and said his office is challenging federal actions in court. Harrison and Savit also emphasized the importance of the election, while Harrison highlighted reproductive rights and Savit described the attorney general’s role in challenging federal policies.
