Billy Strings said proceeds from his Ionia Freak Fair will support projects in the county after organizers finish calculating expenses from the late-August festival. The event drew about 30,000 people to the Ionia County Fairgrounds and featured bluegrass, metal and Michigan artists. Strings said the festival was intended as a one-time event, though he has not ruled out discussing another edition with his team.
