MSU reopens Berkey Hall after reported threat prompts investigation

Michigan State University closed Berkey Hall Thursday while law enforcement investigated a reported potential threat involving a program inside the building. Classes in the building moved to remote instruction during the assessment.

Police later contacted the individual in Washtenaw County and took the person into protective custody under the Michigan Mental Health Code. MSU said the person is not a student or employee, and Berkey Hall will resume normal operations Friday with no threat to campus.
