Coast Guard suspends search for man missing in Lake St. Clair

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search for a 74-year-old Canadian man who fell from a yacht into Lake St. Clair near Grosse Pointe Shores on Saturday night.

Investigators said the man slipped while pulling up the anchor and disappeared beneath the water as a woman aboard went to get a life preserver. Crews searched by boat and helicopter for hours without finding him. The Coast Guard could resume the search if new information emerges.
