Hungary’s inflation edged up as food prices declined in August

Consumer prices in Hungary rose 0.2% in August from July, according to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. Fuel prices increased 0.6% during the month.

Annual inflation reached 1.3%, while food prices fell 1.4% from a year earlier. Higher service prices continued to push overall inflation upward despite the decline in food costs.
