Ingham County communities plan Sept. 11 remembrance ceremonies

Lansing city leaders and first responders will hold a ceremony at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wentworth Park to honor those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Lansing Community College also will hold a remembrance ceremony at its West Campus, where fire and police cadets will honor the 2,977 victims.

A 5K benefiting the 100 Club of Greater Lansing and Camp Liberty will begin at 6 p.m., with remarks from Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth and Delhi Township Fire Chief Brian Ball. The Mason Firefighters Association will host a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. At the Mason Fire Department.
