Lansing hosts annual ‘Out of the darkness’ walk for suicide prevention
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Michigan Chapter is hosting the annual Lansing Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, September 19th at 9 a.m. At Hawk Island Park. Thousands of participants will gather to walk this season in towns across the United States to promote suicide prevention.
Liz Baker, co-chair of the event, spoke to the 517 report about why suicide prevention is close to her heart. She also explained how the walk is incorporating different beads to show solidarity among the events.
