13-year-old girl dies after SUV crash on Grand River Avenue

On September 5, a 13‑year‑old girl died after being struck by an SUV on Grand River Avenue near N. Meech Road in Ingham County, Michigan. The crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m., and the girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Michigan State Police announced Thursday that she died from her injuries.

The incident followed the earlier death of her 12‑year‑old brother, who was also struck by the SUV while riding bicycles on the same stretch of road. Investigators say drugs or alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Michigan State Police in Lansing at 517‑322‑1907.
