Lansing memorial honors 9/11 survivors and victims

An H-beam salvaged from the Marriott World Trade Center hotel on September 11, 2001, was installed as a memorial in Lansing, Michigan, honoring the victims and survivors of the attack.

Patrick Anderson, a survivor of the attack, launched the Michigan Remembers 9/11 Fund and a website that maps the memorials across the state, including the Lansing site.

The memorial lists the names and stories of at least 42 Michigan residents who died that day, and Anderson hopes visitors will read the stories and learn more about those lost.
