Early Wednesday morning, Lansing police responded to a report of shots fired inside a residence at the intersection of Shepard Street and Marcus Street, just south of Kalamazoo Street and north of I-496 on the city’s east side.

Officers were dispatched around 1 a.m. And attempted to make contact with the accused, a 45‑year‑old man, but the subject did not comply, leading to a standoff. The suspect was taken into custody, and Much of Shepard Street remained blocked off as police continued to investigate.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police did not say whether anyone was injured. Stay with News 10 online and on-air for updates as more information becomes available.
