Lansing-area gas prices climb to $4.85 a gallon
The average price for gasoline in the greater Lansing area rose to $4.85 a gallon, up 50 cents from last week, according to AAA. Stations in Lansing and East Lansing were selling fuel for nearly $5 a gallon.
Gas averaged $4.85 in Ingham County, above Michigan’s $4.76 state average and the national average of about $4.44. Drivers said the rising costs have led them to reduce trips, fill-ups and recreational travel.
Michigan’s average price was $4.25 a gallon one month ago and $3.19 around this time last year.
