Whitmer kidnapping plot acquittals lead to lawsuits against State and federal officials
Three Michigan men acquitted in the 2020 plot to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have filed lawsuits against the FBI, Michigan State Police, Attorney General Dana Nessel, the Village of Elk Rapids and others.
Michael and William Null allege government agencies and officials framed them and damaged their construction business. Eric Molitor claims state troopers detained him without probable cause and mischaracterized or withheld evidence. The men are seeking damages and other relief, with the Null brothers also requesting a jury trial.
