Lake Lansing Park cleanup continues two weeks after storm

Cleanup continued at Lake Lansing Park two weeks after a Sept. 3 storm caused extensive damage in Ingham County. Straight-line winds topping 65 mph uprooted trees, scattered debris and destroyed a pavilion on the park’s south side.

The park has partially reopened, but officials asked visitors to avoid areas with heavy debris, caution tape, construction or fencing. Most debris from the picnic area has been removed, while repairs to the destroyed shelter are expected to take significant time.
