MSU resident charged with sexual assault arrested in Atlanta

Arpit Saxena, 39, was arrested at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport on the evening of Sept. 10 after being charged with sexual assault of two patients at an MSU health care facility.

Saxena is currently in custody at the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia, pending extradition to Michigan. He faces three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree and one count in the fourth degree, according to a warrant issued by the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office on Sept. 3, 2026.

The investigation began on April 3, 2025, when MSU police responded to a complaint at the 4600 block of S. Hagadorn Road in East Lansing. Saxena was removed from patient duties on April 7, 2025, and subsequently fired. A second woman also alleged assault by the same physician.
