Bridge repairs near Houghton Lake to bring lane and ramp closures

The Michigan Department of Transportation will invest $297,311 to repair the substructure and deck of the M-55 bridge over US-127 near Houghton Lake. Lane closures and traffic shifts on M-55 are expected, along with a temporary closure of the westbound M-55 loop ramp to southbound US-127.

During the ramp closure, westbound M-55 traffic may turn left onto southbound US-127 near the loop ramps. Lane and shoulder closures will also affect US-127. Crews are expected to return in spring 2027 to seal the bridge’s concrete surfaces.
