Michigan gas prices jump 62 cents in a week

Michigan’s average price for regular gasoline rose 62 cents over the past week to $4.93 per gallon, according to Triple-A Michigan spokesman Howard Hughey.

Hughey said an Illinois refinery was expected to return to full production, but ongoing supply disruptions in the Middle East could limit near-term relief. Filling a 15-gallon tank now costs about $74.

The average price in the Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland area was about $4.91, slightly below $4.93 a few days earlier.
