I-96 crash in Marne leaves one dead, driver hospitalized

A crash involving an Infiniti, a Chevrolet Avalanche, and a semi‑truck occurred on I‑96 near Marne at 12:15 a.m. The incident took place at mile marker 24, with the semi traveling west from Ironwood Drive, the Infiniti following west, and the Avalanche parked on the right shoulder.

Deputies and bystanders pulled the driver out of the Infiniti and rescued the passenger, who was found pinned inside the vehicle. The driver was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition, while the semi driver remained uninjured.

The driver of the semi was uninjured, and the Chevrolet Avalanche was unoccupied at the time of the crash. Information about the passenger who died is being withheld pending family notification, deputies said.
