Michigan State women’s soccer defeats Washington 3-0 at DeMartin Stadium

On Sunday, Michigan State women's soccer secured a 3-0 victory over Washington at DeMartin Stadium, improving the Spartans’ record to 8-1-2 overall and 4-1-0 in Big Ten play.

The Spartans opened the scoring in the first minute with Ella Janz, and by the 45th minute had a 14-5 advantage in shot attempts and a 7-3 edge in corners. Washington’s keeper Tanner Ijams made three first‑half saves, and the Spartans maintained a 10-1 shot advantage and a 7-0 corner margin before the game was 25 minutes old.

In the second half, freshman Lacey Kindel added a goal in the 61st minute, followed by Grace Jackson’s goal in the 73rd minute, giving the Spartans a decisive lead. The team will travel to Illinois next Sunday for a conference game.
