Wine & Roses Vocal Concert to feature LMC choral groups Oct. 14

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center Jenkins Theatre will host the Wine & Roses Vocal Concert at 7 p.m. The free event features two student choral ensembles, Vox LMC and LMC Vocal Chamber, directed by Rebecca Derbas‑Selvidge.

The program includes selections such as “The Days of Wine and Roses” by Henry Mancini, “I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo” by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren, and “Morning” by Al Jarreau, among others, arranged by faculty members Steve Zegree, Mike Carubia, Kirby Shaw, Liz Townsend, Chuck Casey, and Kimberly Donley.

Vox LMC, a vocal jazz ensemble, blends contemporary American music with technology, and has performed with Western Michigan University’s Fourtunate Cats and New York Voices soprano Kim Nazarian. LMC Vocal Chamber performs a diverse repertoire of madrigals, motets, folk songs, spirituals, and jazz.
