Police release photo of vehicle sought in fatal Eaton County crash

Police released a photo of a vehicle sought in connection with a fatal hit‑and‑run crash on Interstate 69 in Benton Township.

The image shows a dark gray 2018 Jeep Compass with damage to the right front, a missing headlight, and a missing passenger‑side mirror, captured on a surveillance camera.

The crash occurred on Sept. 25 in the southbound lanes near M‑100; a 52‑year‑old DeWitt man died the next day. MSP investigators are asking the public to contact law enforcement if they see a vehicle matching this description or have any information that may assist in locating it.
