Michigan opens 2026-27 season with home-and-home series vs Bowling Green

Michigan opens the 2026-27 hockey season with a home-and-home series against Bowling Green, beginning Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at Yost Ice Arena and concluding Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. at Slater Family Ice Arena. The games will be streamed live on B1G+ and Midco Sports Plus, and the first 1,000 fans receive a free schedule poster.

The Wolverines’ forward corps is anchored by junior Michael Hage and junior Will Horcoff, with senior captain Garrett Schifsky and senior Nick Moldenhauer adding veteran depth. The roster also includes eight NHL draft picks, including first‑round selections Jack Nesbitt and J.P. Hurlbert, and the blue line is led by alternate captains Ben Robertson and Asher Barnett. Goalies Jack Ivankovic and Stephen Peck return to guard the net.

Michigan finished last season with 26 wins, the first time the program has reached that total since 2008‑09, and it is the ninth team in history to win nine games or more out of the first ten. Tickets for the weekend’s series can be purchased through MGoBlue.com or SeatGeek.
