Public Safety academy Assistance appropriation IV applications Open

On October 1, 2026, the Michigan Commission began accepting applications for the Public Safety Academy Assistance (PSAA) Program Appropriation IV, providing $10 million in the 2027 budget to support training for newly hired law‑enforcement recruits.

Agencies may receive up to 40 scholarships across all four PSAA programs; applications are open for recruits who start an academy on or after October 1, 2026. Funds will be disbursed once the memorandum of understanding and accounting procedures with the Department of Treasury are finalized, expected within a few weeks.
