GOP spending on Spanish ads for Paxton remains low, only 2% of total blitz

Since the start of September, pro‑Paxton groups have spent $188 million on ads, including $4.2 million—about 2%—in Spanish-language spots, according to AdImpact.

Republicans worry that the low share of Spanish ads could hurt Latino outreach, especially in the Rio Grande Valley, where Spanish‑speaking voters are a key demographic. Mayra Flores, former congresswoman for the 34th District, noted the absence of GOP Spanish spots during a Univision program, and said the gap could be decisive.

In the 34th District, Democrats have outspent Republicans on Spanish ads ($2.7 million to $1.6 million), while in the 15th District the gap is even larger. Republicans have narrowed the overall Spanish‑ad lead to $4.6 million for Talarico versus $4.2 million for Paxton, but the GOP still needs to boost its Spanish presence.
