Hong Kong IPO Funds raised more than double in first nine months
Hong Kong companies raised more than HK$388 billion (US$49.4 billion) through initial public offerings in the first nine months of 2026, more than twice the amount from a year earlier and above the total for all of 2025, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said.
Average daily stock market turnover reached HK$272.9 billion from January through September, up 6.4% year over year, Chan said. Hong Kong Investment Corporation CEO Clara Chan Ka-chai said more than 30 firms in its portfolio were preparing to apply for listings this year.
Chan said rising yields on long-term U.S. Bonds had heightened investor concerns about the global economic outlook and dampened recent sentiment in Hong Kong’s stock market.
