U.S. returns bombers from British base after reported threat
The United States has moved all long-range bombers deployed at RAF Fairford in England back to home stations after an unspecified threat, a U.S. Official told CNN. The official gave no details about the threat, which another source described as a “real world incident.”
The move follows arrests in Britain linked to an alleged plot against the base. British police arrested five men on Sept. 27 and a British-Iranian dual national on Thursday; the five men were later released on bail, and police said no explosives were found in three vans. Iran has denied involvement.
