Michigan gas prices fall 22 cents in a week

Michigan drivers are paying an average of $4.47 per gallon for regular gasoline, down 22 cents from a week ago. The state average remains 42 cents above last month and $1.36 higher than a year ago.

A full 15-gallon tank costs about $67, roughly $16 more than the highest price recorded in 2025. In Metro Detroit, the average fell 21 cents over the week to $4.50 per gallon, still $1.43 above the year-ago level.

U.S. Gasoline demand, supply and production all declined in the latest data. Crude inventories rose by 900,000 barrels to 427.3 million, 2% above the five-year average, while West Texas Intermediate crude settled Friday at $91.11 a barrel, down $1.76.
