EMU volleyball heads to Buffalo for two-match series

Eastern Michigan University will play a two‑match Mid‑American Conference road series against the University at Buffalo at Broadview Arena. The first match is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m., and the second for Saturday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. Both games will be televised on ESPN+ and live stats will be available at Live Stats.

EMU leads the all‑time series 23‑12 across 35 meetings since 1996. The Eagles won the first 15 matches of the series consecutively, from 1996 through 2008, before Buffalo began to close the gap. The Bulls held a six‑match winning streak from Oct. 29, 2021, until EMU snapped it with a 3‑2 victory Oct. 24, 2025, in Ypsilanti — the most recent meeting between the programs. Over the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Buffalo holds a 3‑1 edge. The Bulls swept both matches in November 2024, winning 3‑1 each time, before the teams split in 2025 — Buffalo took the first match 3‑0 and EMU answered with the 3‑2 victory the following evening.

The Eagles carry momentum into the weekend after sweeping Central Michigan 3‑0 (25‑20, 26‑24, 25‑10) Saturday, Oct. 3, snapping a two‑match skid and securing the program’s first home win of the season. EMU recorded eight aces and 10 blocks as a team. Nattie Slusher paced the attack with eight kills and a career‑high five service aces, finishing with 13.5 points. AshleeKay Christensen matched her 2026 season highs with nine kills and 10 digs, while Azra Eriç led all players with five blocks. The setting duties were shared by Kaylin Richter, who posted a career‑best 20 assists, and Lina Govoni, who added 14. Surabhi Srinivasan anchored the back row with 15 digs and three aces.
