Latvia consumer prices rise 0.2% in September 2026, annual Inflation at 3.2%

Latvia's consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in September 2026 compared with August, according to the Central Statistical Bureau. The monthly change was driven mainly by higher transport prices, particularly fuels, and by lower food and non‑alcoholic beverage prices, especially fresh, chilled or frozen pig meat, potatoes, coffee and other fresh fruits.

Transport contributed 0.3 percentage points to the monthly change, while housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 0.1 percentage points and clothing and footwear added 0.1 percentage points. Food and non‑alcoholic beverage prices fell 0.2 percentage points, with restaurants and accommodation services and recreation, sport and culture each subtracting 0.1 percentage points.

Compared with September 2025, consumer prices rose 3.2 percent in September 2026. The annual change was driven mainly by higher transport prices, contributing 1.6 percentage points, and by housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, contributing 1.2 percentage points. Recreation, sport and culture also made a significant upward contribution of 0.5 percentage points.
