Trump rallies for Sen. Dan Sullivan in Wasilla ahead of 2026 midterms
President Donald Trump will speak at 7:30 p.m. EDT at a rally in Wasilla, 45 miles north of Anchorage, to support Sen. Dan Sullivan’s bid for a third Senate term. The event is part of a western swing that also takes him to rallies in Arizona and Montana on Wednesday, marking a key moment in the national midterm campaign.
Sullivan faces Democrat Mary Peltola in the upcoming election, and Trump praised the senator’s record, saying he would call him all the time because he thinks no one has helped Alaska like Donald Trump. The rally also includes support for Republican Rep. Nick Begich, who is facing a challenge from Bill Hill.
Alaska’s population is about 740,000, making it slightly less populous than Denver, and the state uses open primaries and ranked choice voting for the 2026 general election. Trump’s visit is his strongest show of support for the Senate race, and he also highlighted a $54 billion investment by South Korea’s government into an Alaska natural gas project.
