Rogers’ yacht claim verified in Maryland, not Florida

In a recent debate, Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El‑Sayed repeatedly claimed that Republican Mike Rogers bought two yachts after leaving Congress at the start of 2015, a point Rogers’ campaign has denied.

Records show Rogers registered two large boats in Maryland, near a Washington, DC‑area condo he and his wife owned. One boat, “Sawfish,” a 32‑foot twin‑hull Larson vessel built in 2008, was sold in 2016. The second, “Si Como No,” a 39‑foot Cruisers Yachts vessel built in 2016, remains registered in Maryland under Rogers’ name since April 6, 2017.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources confirmed both registrations were under the same owner, but no current registrations for Rogers are listed in the database, nor are any registrations associated with a Florida address. Rogers’ latest financial disclosure does not mention any watercraft, indicating the yachts were not listed in Florida.
