Eaton County man injured after striking MSP vehicle on I-96

A 67-year-old man from Dewitt was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after colliding with an unoccupied Michigan State Police vehicle on westbound I-96 near Lansing Road.

The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Wednesday while troopers were assisting a semi-truck that had gone into a ditch. The right lane was closed for the tow operation, and the patrol vehicle was positioned in the lane with emergency lights and flares active.
