Former MSU physician’s preliminary hearing moved to December
The preliminary hearing for Arpit Saxena, a former Michigan State University resident physician charged with criminal sexual conduct, was rescheduled from Thursday, Oct. 29, to Dec. 10, at the 54B District Court in East Lansing. The hearing was adjourned early Thursday morning without new details being disclosed.
Saxena, 39, was dismissed from his position in April 2025 after an investigation revealed he sexually assaulted two patients at the MSU Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinic. Since his arrest on Sept. 10, two additional victims have filed notices of intent to sue, bringing the total number of accusers to three.
The victims allege that Saxena assaulted them under the guise of medical examinations without a chaperone present. He currently faces three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Saxena is being held in Ingham County Jail on a $2 million bond.
