El-Sayed responds to Trump’s ‘metal detector’ remark in Kalamazoo
Democratic Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed responded to President Donald Trump's recent "metal detector" comment during a campaign rally in Kalamazoo on Thursday. El-Sayed challenged the president to a lie detector test, stating he would question Trump about the Epstein files if the two were to sit for the exam.
The exchange follows Trump's campaign stop in Michigan on Sunday, where he linked El-Sayed to the Muslim Brotherhood and mocked the nominee's name by referring to him as "Mohammad" and "Abdul Ramadan." El-Sayed said at his rally that the administration is targeting him for his faith rather than focusing on gas and grocery prices.
El-Sayed, who is facing Trump-endorsed Republican nominee Mike Rogers in the Senate race, urged voters to "vote like Donald Trump is on the ballot." Senator Elissa Slotkin also campaigned for El-Sayed at the Kalamazoo event.
