Starburst tops Halloween candy sales in Michigan

Starburst is the most popular Halloween candy in Michigan, according to data compiled by candystore.com. Candy corn ranked second, followed by Butterfinger in third place.

Nationally, M&M's leads the list of top-selling Halloween treats, with Sour Patch Kids in second. Sour Patch Kids are also the top seller in ten states, including Illinois and Nebraska.

The National Retail Federation reports that Americans are on pace to spend approximately $4.1 billion on candy this year. Across the Midwest, Hot Tamales, M&M's, and Sour Patch Kids hold the top sales positions.
