19-year-old man dies in early morning Kalamazoo shooting

A 19-year-old man died after being shot in Kalamazoo early Saturday morning. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to a shooting report on West Michigan Avenue near North Park Street just after 2:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound and began lifesaving measures, but he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is in its early stages, and no suspect information is currently available.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the department or submit tips anonymously through the Kalamazoo Silent Observer.
