Two drivers and a passenger were hospitalized following an angled head-on collision in Portland Township early Sunday morning. The crash occurred on East Grand River Avenue near Doreen Drive, approximately two miles west of Portland, just after 1:30 a.m., according to the Ionia County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators reported that a 20-year-old man driving a 2007 GMC Sierra collided with an eastbound 2002 Saturn Vue driven by a 28-year-old man. The 28-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital, while the 20-year-old driver was seriously injured and transported to a Lansing hospital.

A 20-year-old passenger from the GMC Sierra was taken to an Ionia hospital, though her condition was not disclosed.
